People regularly clean and polish all items
in their homes, except possibly mailboxes.
Mailboxes - like any exterior fixture require
periodic cleaning. With record high corrosive
elements in our atmosphere - salt, and acids
can affect any finish.
One yearly cleaning is recommended
on all
metal products with the use of a commercially
available polish such as Nu Finish.
This
will significantly prolong the life
&
lusture of any exterior box.
Lock lubrication should be applied
with dry
graphite posder (availabe in samll
tube)
or a teflon spray such as Super Lube.
Both
availabe in most Home Hardwares or
Canadian
Tire stores. Do not use WD40
Locks can freeze, especially in a rapid
temperature
drop. Automotive style lock de-icers
are
ideal in this situation. |
